Anesu Ushewokunze-Obatolu
Dr Anesu Ushewokunze-Obatolu is the Director
of Veterinary Public Health; Animal Disease Diagnostics and Animal
Health Research (Veterinary Technical Services) in the Ministry
of Agriculture. She became Zimbabwe’s first woman veterinary
surgeon in 1979.
She is a Veterinary Epidemiologist and Public
Health Expert. She holds a Masters degree in Veterinary Public Health,
a Masters degree in Veterinary Epidemiology and a Doctorate in Veterinary
Epidemiology. She has been a civil servant since late 1981 and has
published widely both locally and internationally. Her career has
involved leading initiatives into diagnostics and vaccine development,
introduction of structured epidemiological studies into important
animal health problems, introduction of the total quality management
system into referral disease diagnostics and the orientation of
the animal health research programme towards rural development.
Her biggest contribution to science is in mineral micronutrient
deficiency epidemiology. |
