Dr.
Gibson Mandishona
Dr. Gibson Manyowa Mandishona is the founder
Director of SIRDC from its inception in 1993 and has been its Board
Chairman during 1995 – 2005.
He holds a PhD (Mathematics) degree from Nottingham
University UK. He taught Mathematics in London and at several African
Universities. He worked as an advisor for the United Nations in
Addis Ababa during 1975 – 1980, prior to becoming Director
of the Zimbabwe Central Statistical Office from 1980 – 1993.
During 1993 – 1998, Dr Mandishona was Project
Manager of the UNDP solar pilot project. Currently, he is Executive
Director of the Centre Renewable Energy and also serves on the boards
of ZIMRA, NMB, Fidelity Life Assurance, Community Technology Trust
and UZ Development Technology Centre. He is a past director of NSSA,
ZESA, IDC, Zimbabwe College of Music and National Arts Council. |
