Mr William Gwata

Mr William Gwata is the Managing Director of Algorhythm (Pvt) Ltd, a culinary engineering company. Mr Gwata holds a BSc (Hons) degree in biochemistry from the University of Surrey, UK as well as a Bachelor of Accounting Science degree from UNISA, South Africa.

After working as a technician at the Public Health Laboratory, Mr Gwata served articles of clerkship in auditing with Ernst and Young. He then joined National Foods Ltd where he rose to the position of Financial Manager. Among his other achievements at National Foods, he developed an innovative software for quantifying bulk commodities in storage silos. The software package is still in use twelve years later. Eight years ago, he left regular employment to commercialize his inventions, which include the Gwatamatic – an automatic sadza cooking machine; the Kangamatic – a peanut roasting machine; the Gochamatic – a green maize roasting machine and the Kotomatic – an avocado harvesting tool.
