Electronic Door Lock
ECI has on sale a stand-alone electronic door lock system that allows multi-user access by the assignment of pin numbers specific to each individual. The System will lock and unlock the door using a 4-digit personal identification number (PIN). This provides the convenience of keyless access through the door. The system, which accepts up to forty (40) different pin combinations, is composed of a keypad interface, which acts as the input device, a magnetic lock, a battery pack, a siren, a push-to-open switch and two LED indicators.
A user seeking access to the room enters the PIN number, a 4-digit combination code, that the system uses to decide what action to take. If the PIN number entered is correct a GREEN LED comes ON for a 5-second period to indicate a valid PIN and the user can push the door open within this period. If the PIN number entered is incorrect, the RED LED instead comes ON to indicate an invalid PIN was entered. If an invalid PIN is entered three times in succession, a warning alarm is activated for a period of 5 seconds. After the alarm has been activated, all other pin combinations are de-activated until after the security code has been entered.
