ABOUT ERSI

ERSI is a national research institute that consists of two divisions:
-National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC).
-National Cleaner Production Centre. (NCPC)

MANDATE

To provide research, consultancy services and training in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (RS/GIS) and Cleaner Production Technologies (CPT) to private and public institutions to improve natural resources and environmental management for sustainable development.

ERSI GOAL

To improve and facilitate the management and protection of natural resources and the environment by providing tools and solutions that help in decision-making.

ERSI OBJECTIVES

• To use GIS/RS technologies in providing solutions to manage the environment and protect natural resources in Zimbabwe and the region.
• To provide technical assistance in environmental management and carry out environmental impact assessments for development projects.
• To disseminate cleaner production information and provide cleaner production services to industry
• To build capacity in the private and public sectors in the use RS/GIS and CPT.
