ABOUT ETI

The Energy Technology Institute (ETI) is a national institute set up to provide technological services and products in the energy field to national and regional energy stakeholders. ETI strives to continually establish and maintain close and permanent partnership with industry in areas of mutual benefit related to collaborative research, development of new products, provision of expert services and training in the energy field. The institute employs staff of fine calibre and immense practical experience assisted by the state of the art test equipment.

MANDATE OF THE INSTITUTE:

- Spearheading technology development within the energy sector
- Adapting, upgrading and transferring of energy technology for the benefit of industry in Zimbabwe
- Promoting efficient use of energy resources
- Maximizing energy availability, accessibility and affordability
- Spearheading the introduction of environmentally friendly energy resources to the local market
- Providing information on energy technology to various stakeholders
- Building capacity and developing technical man power expertise in the energy sector
- Establishing state of the art energy management systems
- Investigating energy needs of Zimbabwe and the provisions of solutions thereafter.

INSTITUTE DIVISIONS:

The institute consists of three divisions:
- Energy Management Division,
- Renewable Energy Division and
- Fuels Division
- Nuclear Energy Division
