Eng. Fred Gweme, Acting Director, MPhil EN (UZ);
BSc Eng (UZ); Currently studying for an MBA. Par
A qualified Electronics and Computer Engineer,
who has extensive experience in supervising the design and development
of new and innovative systems for import substitution and sustainable
development. He joined SIRDC as a Research Scientist in the then
Informatics and Electronics Institute in July 1997. He was appointed
the inaugural director of the Electronics and Communications Institute
in 2004 and later joined SIRTECH, the commercial wing of SIRDC,
in 2006 as General Manager of the Electronics production unit. He
was appointed the Acting Director of the Informatics Institute in
February 2007, a post he has held since then. He has been a member
of the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers, ZIE, since 1993.
Edmore Munedzimwe, Software Development Engineer
A holder of an upper second BSc Honours
degree in Mathematics, with General in Computer Science and Statistics,
from the University of Zimbabwe, 2006. He worked as a Sales Analyst
at First Pack Marketing from June 2007 to July 2007 developing mathematical
models and implementing them in vb.net programming. This management
post required him to do business feasibility reports, competitor
analysis, local and foreigner supplier research, commissions generation
as well as analyzing Pastel data for internal product viability
reports in liaison with the procurement officer. He was later promoted
first to Procurement Officer then to Business Research Consultant.
He is currently employed full time as a Research Scientist in Software
Engineering at SIRDC.
Stanley Gwangwava, Software Development Engineer
A holder of a BSc Honours degree in Information
Systems from the Midlands State University, who is well based in
database system design. He has worked as an Assistant Health Information
officer responsible for health information database system design
and management. He is currently working as a Software Engineering
Research Scientist in the Informatics Institute at SIRDC. He is
currently working on the computerisation of the Maintenance Management
system, which is set to be completed at the end of February 2010.
Sudden Svosve, Software Development Engineer
A holder of a BSc Honours degree in Computer
Science from the Midlands State University, who is well based in
database system design. He has worked on a project to design and
develop a Player Management System for ZIFA and an Online Payment
and Registration System for CIMAS. He is currently involved in the
project to computerise the pension management system of an Asset
Management System for SIRDC.
Thenjiwe Sibanda, Network Administrator
A holder of an HND in Computer Studies,
a CCNA Cisco Certified Network Associate and a qualified Web designer.
She is currently employed at SIRDC as the Acting Network Administrator.
Her areas of expertise include: Computer hardware repair and maintenance,
Software and hardware installations, Server Administration Windows
and Linux, Proxy and Mail Server Administration, Antivirus installation
and managing a virus free environment and Networking WAN and LAN.
Meritas Marufu, Software Development Engineer
A holder of a BSc Honours degree in Information
Systems from the Women’s University in Africa and a Higher
National Diploma in Computer Studies from the Harare Polytechnical
College. He is currently employed at SIRDC as a Software Developer.
He has worked in the Army for several years and has been involved
in the development of several Army systems.
Mutandwa Chikove, Software Development Engineer
A holder of a BSc Honours degree in Computer
Science from the National University of Science and Technology.
He is currently employed at SIRDC as a Software Developer. He has
vast knowledge in databases and information systems. He is currently
involved in the project to computerise an Asset Management System
for SIRDC.
Mariya Chidyausai, Analyst Programmer, currently
studying for a BTech in Information Technology with UNISA
A holder of a Diploma in Systems Analysis
and Design. She is currently employed at SIRDC as an Analyst Programmer.
Her areas of expertise include computer software development. She
has worked on a project to design and develop a Maintenance and
Management System. She is currently involved in the project to computerise
Human Resources Management System for SIRDC.

A Holder of National Diploma in Information Technology
