| CURRENT RESEARCH AREAS a) Re-treatment of refractory gold dumps at the Roasting Plant in Kwekwe. An acid pre-treatment plant was installed to enhance gold solubilization in subsequent carbon–in-leach circuit. Focus is now on optimising gold adsorption by minimising carbon foulants released in acid circuit before commercialisation. b) Production and heat treatment of spheroid iron to austempered ductile iron. c) Development of high chromium mill balls in iron and steel. d) Development of advanced refractories for local manufacturing. |
