The minimum qualification is an M. Sc.. or M. Eng. degree. A relevant Ph.D. qualification will be an added advantage. Candidates should hold a good B. Sc. or B. Eng. degree or equivalent from a reputable university.

A.DIRECTOR - BUILDING TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE (BTI)
Qualifications and Experience
- The minimum qualification will be an M.Sc. degree in Architecture or Civil / Structural / Construction Engineering or equivalent;
- A Ph. D. qualification will be an added advantage;
- At least five (5) years experience in technical or R & D management related to research and application;
- Leadership qualities that include: self–motivation, ability to organise and motivate research staff and commitment to SIRDC’s goals.
B.DIRECTOR - ENERGY TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE (ETI)
Qualifications and Experience
- The minimum qualification will be an M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Applied Sciences or equivalent;
- A Ph. D. qualification will be an added advantage;
- At least five (5) years experience in technical or R & D management related to research and application;
- Leadership qualities that include: self–motivation, ability to organise and motivate research staff and commitment to SIRDC’s goals.
C.DIRECTOR - FOOD AND BIOMEDICAL TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE (FBTI)
Qualifications and Experience
- A Good BSc.(Hons) degree in Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Chemistry or Food Technology or Chemical Engineering or equivalent;
- An M.Sc. or M.Eng. qualification is a pre-requisite;
- A Ph.D. qualification will be an added advantage;
- Extensive technical or research experience in the food, chemical, pharmaceutical or related industries;
- At least five (5) years experience in technical or R & D management related to research and application;
- A team player with a proven track record in scientific research and development and technology application;
- Experience in commercialisation of research will be an added advantage;
- A mature individual with leadership qualities that include: self–motivation, ability to organise and motivate research staff and commitment to SIRDC’s goals.
Duties and responsibilities for positions A-C:
- To direct the effective delivery of R&D products and services to industry;
- To provide leadership that motivates the research scientists and engineers in their work;
- To coordinate the delivery of technical and analytical services to industry;
- To provide public relations services in order to promote the image of the institute;
- To provide management and budget control in the operations of the institute;
- To establish scientific linkages and networks with related organizations at both national and international levels;
- Exercising responsible attitude to staff and institutional assets;
- To identify new technical opportunities;
- To provide such other management functions at the Institute and SIRDC as you may be asked to perform from time to time.
