Mushrooms and Mushroom Spawn at SIRDC

SIRDC has embarked on a full-scale production of oyster mushrooms and oyster mushroom spawn at its Hatcliffe premises. Because of their richness in vitamins and protein, mushrooms are increasingly becoming a vital component of the human diet throughout the world, and Zimbabwe is no exception. Although some companies and individuals in the country have been engaged in the commercial cultivation of mushrooms, particularly the button variety, the industry has largely been negatively affected by the scarcity of the spawn (seed) on the local market.

MCR roofing tile

“MCR” tiles stands for “micro-concrete roofing” tiles made of cement and sand. An MCR tile is a low-cost roofing tile that has been developed as an excellent cost-effective substitute to conventional tiles. The tile is of good quality. It conforms to SAZ standard 863:2002
