A. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION

Qualifications and Experience

The incumbent should have the following qualifications and experience:-

  • A PhD Degree in Finance or Business Administration
  • Extensive experience in Administration and Leadership
  • Experience in Financial Management
  • Good understanding of Zimbabwean Labour Laws
  • Experience in Motivating, Training and Appraising Staff
  • Experience in Developing Businesses from Scientific Research and Development

B. DIRECTOR - BUILDING TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE

Qualifications

  • The minimum qualification will be a Ph D degree in Architecture or Civil/Structural/ Construction Engineering or equivalent;
  • At least five (5) years working experience in technical or R & D management related to research and application in the building environment.

C. DIRECTOR -METALLURGICAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE

Qualifications

  • The minimum qualification will be a Ph D degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent;
  • At least five (5) years working experience in research or industry in the mining, metallurgy or mineral processing industries.

Duties and Responsibilities for positions A - B

  • To direct the effective delivery of R & D products and services to industry;
  • To provide leadership that motivates the research scientists and engineers in their work;
  • To co-ordinate the delivery of technical and analytical services to industry;
  • To provide public relations services in order to promote the image of the Institute;
  • To provide management and budget control in the operations of the Institute;
  • To establish scientific linkages and networks with related organizations at both national and international levels;
  • Exercising responsible attitude to staff and institutional assets;
  • To identify new technical opportunities;
  • To provide such other management functions at the Institute and SIRDC as you may be asked to perform from time to time.

D. INTERNAL AUDIT MANAGER

SIRDC is looking for an Internal Audit Manager who is capable of adding value to its operations by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management and governance processes. The key job functions will be:

  • To formulate audit strategy, risk based audit plan and budget in line with the organization’s strategy
  • Develop internal audit charter
  • Review internal control systems across all departments and institutes.
  • Play advisory role to the Board Audit Committee as well as to Management on latest developments in internal audit and business practices
  • Oversee the production and submission of timely and clear audit reports with recommendations aimed at strengthening the overall control environment.
  • Monitor progress of management actions to control weaknesses communicated in the audit reports
  • Supervision of the internal audit department staff
  • Reviewing and appraising the soundness, adequacy and application of accounting, financial and other operating controls.
  • Enforce compliance with state law, corporate governance and SIRDC policies and procedures.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Proficiency in applying Audit standards
  • Appreciation of fundamentals of  accounting principles
  • Analytical skills
  • Knowledge of Company Law, Taxation, Audit and Finance Act
  • Report writing skills
  • Exposure to manufacturing environment is an added advantage
Qualifications and Experience

The incumbent should possess the following qualifications:-

  • First degree in Accounting/Accountancy/Auditing
  • Master’s degree, CISA, CIA, CFE holders would have added advantage
  • At least 10 years auditing experience of which 5 years must be at Management
